As I was beginning to fall asleep last night God started revealing to me details about this blog. First showing me a drop of blood and a tear-drop and how they are symbolically the same shape. They seem to fall the same way and through drawings you see them look the same. Are they the same makeup or are they made completely different from each other? What is the spiritual meaning of the tear drop? The drop of blood? Since it is Holy Week, let’s take a look and find out what is so beautiful about them both.
Drop of Blood
The blood is significant for our life in many ways. As with the human body it contains the oxygen as flows from the heart and throughout the body, giving necessary nutrients to all areas within. Feeding our body and brain with everything needed to keep breathing, with our heart beating and to stay alive. It is a continuous flow that hopefully will stay from being disrupted by a cut, an unplanned opening, the combining together to form a clot or any other unsafe issues. If something happens to cause it to flow out quickly or to be caught in an area, it could be detrimental and end the life of the person it is embodied in.
If you look at how the blood can drop down from a wound, it looks like the form of a tear-drop, a drop and we know that the blood flowed from Christ body as He was beating with the strap and when He was crucified and stabbed with the sword. The drop symbilizes the blood shed for us, forgiveness of sin and the healing in our body by the stripes He took on His back. We know this today as s “drop of blood.”
Are you seeing any correlation to the Blood of Christ, over our lives and Jesus Christ being in our lives?
The blood is proof of our distinction being separated from the world, thus belonging to God. Being a God of mercy and promise, the blood is God’s pledge of mercy to spare us. The blood is our protection, shielding us from judgment. This is way Believers will say we are covered in the Blood. It also has to do with Passover when God told the Israelites to cover their doorposts with the blood of a clean lamb. The blood over the doorpost told the Death Angel to pass on by, that this home was covered and protected by God.
Tear-Drop
You can develop a tear-drop without crying. Sometimes it’s the reaction in your nose to a smell, it can be from allergies, or even looking at the sun. We know that when we cry, our eyes bring up tear and they usually begin to run out the corner and down our cheeks. When the drop begins to leave the eye area, they form what looks like the “tear-drop” as we know to today, the drop of the water being released from our eye.
Tears play an important role in keeping us healthy. Tears keep the surface of our eyeballs clean and moist and help protect our eyes from damage. Tears are made of mucus, water, and oil, and each component plays a role in the eye.
Significance of tear-drop is it signifies a delicate interplay between life’s highs and lows, embodying the essence of human experience. Additionally, a tear-drop is viewed as a sacred response, showcasing the internal states of agony and ecstasy. This teardrop shape is widely regarded as the symbol of weeping, grief, and renewed life, embodying the energy of healing, shared emotions, empathy, and connectivity to the land. The teardrop symbol is also strongly associated with water and rain.
The shortest verse in the entire bible is, “Jesus Wept.” I would imagine that the tear-dops flowed out of His eyes as He had learned about the death of His dear friend Lazareth. The drop of tear from His eyes would definitely signify the grief and sorrow He was feeling from the news He had just received.
My thoughts
As the drop of blood is a form of protection, so is the tear-drop. God’s protection and love in our lives, were also revealed through Christ by His death and the blood that dripped and also by the tears that were shed. A drop of blood and a tear-drop are similar in many ways and by the way they are artistically drawn. Both resemble a covering and a shield of protection. I now know by the revelation and knowledge that God has shown me through this, I will never look at them in the same way. May you be covered by His Blood and touched by His Tears this Holy Week.
