Because of her selfless work and passion to help and support the domestic violence and abused population, her work has never gone unnoticed, as she’s received several accolades by being inducted into the prestigious Marquis Who’s Who Biographical Registry; and, honored with the Marquis Who’s Who Distinguished Humanitarian
Award.

Ms. Yolanda Jones is a New Yorker Native; however, currently resides in Venus Texas.  She has 2- adult children (Son 38/daughter 34), and 4 amazing grandchildren, ages 18, 15, 4, 2, 1.  Ms. Jones holds an Associates & Bachelors of Science Degree in Criminal Justice, and a Masters of Science Degree in Counseling and Development with a minor in Psychology from Texas Woman’s University.  Although she is not currently active due to military service-connected physical disabilities that caused lasting debilitation, Ms. Jones is a Certified High Red- Belt Degree in TaeKwonDo, where she and her children trained under the leadership of Byung Lee Dojung Tae Kwon Do, in Goldsboro, North Carolina.

Because of her personal experiences as a single mom being deployed to Iraq and observing female mistreatments; as well as, encountering her own mistreatments, her ambition and drive catapulted her to publish her first book titled, “Scarred, But not Broken; My Personal Experience as a Single Mom Deployed to Iraq in Support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 2003-2005.” As, Yolanda Jones tried to adjust to normalcy upon returning from Iraq, as well as being diagnosed with PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and other mental and physical disabilities, this became her worst challenge, as she later soon realized- she was not the same person- same mom- same daughter – same sister- same auntie- same niece- same granddaughter, she once was, prior to going off to war.  Unfortunately, she had no one to turn to; family could not understand, therefore, she began writing again and soon published her 2nd book titled, “Life Goes on After the War: From Uniform to Classroom and Living with PTSD and other Service-Connected Injuries; whether major or minor.”
Ms. Yolanda Jones’ continual passion to spread education and awareness became a never-ending cycle, as she sought to finally share her personal story of being a Domestic Violence Survivor; due to the constant news media’s reporting of domestic violence amongst celebrities, athletes, and among every day average individuals. This was again, another time when she put pen to paper and began sharing the narrative to her own story; of being subjected to domestic violence.   So, with the help of a very close family friend, Ms. Jones and the family friend brainstormed for hours until they were able to come up with a title clip (eye catcher); as a result, the family friend came up with the first part of the title, “Silent Victims.” However, those two words standing alone did not pop out to her; so she decided, since she had observed several different domestic violence victims of all races, religions, and socioeconomic status- she decided to add the remaining extension of the title being, “Domestic Violence Does Not Discriminate.” .  And, that is how her 3rd published book received its title.

Ms. Yolanda Jones’s journey of helping others, and bringing awareness and education to many has been and will always be her passion as she uses her voice and platform to educate, empower, and inspire others to speak up, seek help, and support one another. Her overall mission is to give HOPE to the HOPELESS and to create a culture of respect and dignity for all.
